According to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa, a proposed increase of 24.8% to the ESKOM tariffs, has been granted. This tariff is to rise again by 25.8% in 2011, and again by 25.9% for 2012.

In November 2008 a SIRAC High Efficiency Hot water heat pump was installed to the geyser hot water system at a hut in a National Park. A sealed kWh meter was fitted to monitor the electrical consumption. The electrical element in the geyser was disconnected. Read the rest of this entry »
